Hurricane Andrew Terrorizes Chico

PETERSEN MEDIA: After receiving a mid-afternoon phone call to fill in for Brett Miller Friday night in Chico, CA, Andy Gregg made the most of his opportunity as he simply dominated the 410 feature.

Silver Dollar Speedway utilized a unique format Friday night, as they opted to run a dual heat race format awarding drivers passing, and finishing points to set the feature event line up.

After lining up scratch on the field in his initial heat race, Gregg was able to charge up to a third place finish.

The second heat race inverted the start of the first heat race, and Gregg lined up on the pole, where he would proceed to dominate the event, picking up the win, and pulling a three pill to line him up third for the feature.

With perennial threat, Andy Forsberg, on the pole for the feature, Gregg sailed around the outside of him, and took the early lead on the first lap off of turn two.

From that point on, the driver known as Hurricane, simply put on a clinic and dominated the feature aboard his Bill Bell owned, Coors Lite/Care Free Pools No.1x.

At the stripe Gregg won over Sean Becker, and Forsberg, and Tyler Wolf.

“I’ve really got to thank Bill Bell and this entire team for giving me the chance to race their car tonight at,” said Gregg. “This thing was a pleasure to drive, and maybe Brett will have to miss some races in the future,” Gregg joked.
