Chasing Cale

CALE

Cale Conley is an 18 year-old professional racecar driver from Vienna, WV.  He currently competes in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, USAR Pro Cup, and USAC Mopar Naional Midget series.  Cale spent the last two years racing 410 & 360 sprint cars with the World of Outlaws and O’Reilly AllStar series.  Cale spent two solid years touring the country in these cars learning and adpating to some of the fastest cars (weight/HP ration) in the world.  He also spent time in the USAC National midget series running primarily in the pavement races. He found great successes in every different series he ran.  He competed with the best of the best from all over the world and found himself running up front with the veterans very quickly.

Cale has been in racecars since the age of 5, when he first strapped into his mini-wedge at a local dirt track.  From there he moved onto quarter midgets at age twelve, where he found alot of success in his first pavement series. In these cars he won several races, and also a few regional titles. He spent 3 years racing quarter midgets and then switched the USAC Kenyon midgets at the age of fifteen.  After the most recent stint in sprint cars, he once again made the transition back to the pavement in a full-size stock car.  This year Cale will undergo a unique learning curve as he transitions to the 3,000LB full-bodied stock car.

This year Cale has teamed up with Veteran NASCAR Winston Crew Chief, David Ifft.  Cale has relocated to Lake Wylie, SC where he currently lives and works with his team. Cale plans to learn as much as possible over the next few years as he has his sights set on the NASCAR Sprint Cup, which has been his dream since he can remember.  Cale will learn from one of the best, as David Ifft brings over 40 years experience as a crew chief and adds over 30 Winston Cup victories to his resume.  Cale will race in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East races when there is a schedule conflict with the USAR Pro Cup Series. The NASCAR K&N Pro Series has 12 races on the schedule for 2011, one of those is a combination race with the Pro Series West.

Cale will also be competing in the MOPAR USAC National Midget Series when the race schedule permits.  He will run the #3C in this series at select pavement tracks.  He will race out of a shop in Columbus, OH under the direction of Crew Chief Dave Fisher.  There are about 8-10 pavement races on the schedule for this season with a “Turkey Night” Finale on Thanksgiving night in Irwindale, CA.  This is one of the most prestigous races on the USAC Midget circuit.
